Continuing Your Education
Using your GW RevU Education for Continuing Education to Maintain Your Professional Certificate and License
Many professional fields require professional development and ongoing education. You have likely encountered several terms that are often used interchangeably across various industries to describe the process of maintaining your certifications or licensure. These include:
- CEU – Continuing Education Unit
- CPE – Continuing Professional Education
- PDU – Professional Development Units
- PDH – Professional Development Hours
- CME – Continuing Medical Education
- CPD – Continuing Professional Development
- CEC – Continuing Education Credit
- CE – Continuing Education
Regardless of the specific terminology used in your field, continuing education is about engaging in structured learning activities to stay current, enhance your skills, and meet regulatory requirements. These efforts are about maintaining your professional status, enhancing your professional skills, and staying competitive in your industry.
GW RevU continuing education provides many opportunities for students to obtain the professional education needed to maintain their professional license or certification.
How it Works
Upon completion of your certificate, micro-credential, or credential, you will receive a digital badge from GW RevU that includes essential information about the contact hours and minutes, learning outcomes, and skills achieved that you can submit to your professional board or certification body for review and granting of continuing education credits.
Unless otherwise noted on a particular offering, GW RevU does not directly grant continuing education credits. Instead, each professional organization will determine how many units or credits each product gets based on its organizational standards and requirements.
Contact Hours
GW RevU will indicate the number of contact hours and recommend the number of hours learners should be recognized as completing. The final conversion of contact hours and number of earned credits will be at the discretion of the individual’s program organization.
Accredible
Accredible is an innovative badging system designed to recognize and showcase achievements in a digital format. It allows organizations, educational institutions, and individuals to create, issue, and share verifiable badges that represent skills, certifications, and accomplishments. With a focus on enhancing credibility and engagement, Accredible makes it easy for recipients to display their badges on social media, professional profiles, and resumes, providing tangible proof of their achievements in an increasingly competitive landscape.
Through customizable designs and detailed metadata, Accredible ensures that each badge not only looks appealing but also contains essential information about the criteria and competencies associated with the achievement, making it a valuable tool for learners and employers alike.
