COURSE SYLLABUS
The certificate covers all six of the IT Audit Fundamentals domains, using proven instructional design techniques, such as video, interactive eLearning modules, downloadable resources, and performance-based labs.
- The Audit Function (5%): Understanding the purpose, roles, and responsibilities of the audit function within an organization.
- Controls, Risk, and Audit (8%): Exploring internal controls, risk management, and their relationship to audit processes.
- Performing an Audit (35%): Gaining practical experience in planning, executing, and reporting on audits, including evidence collection and assessment.
- IT Environment and Components (25%): Examining the components of IT infrastructure, such as traditional IT setups, cloud computing, and business continuity planning.
- Specific Audit Subjects (15%): Focusing on specialized audit areas, including network security, operating systems, web applications, privacy considerations, and mobile computing.
- Overview of Newer Technologies (12%): Understanding emerging technologies like cybersecurity advancements, data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain and their implications for auditing.
There are no prerequisites. You can register for the IT Audit Fundamentals exam at any time. The online, remotely proctored 2-hour exam blends both knowledge (multiple choice) and performance-based questions set in a virtual lab environment. To pass the exam, you must earn a score of 65% or higher.
Successful students will receive an internationally recognized badge from ISACA.
