IT Risk Fundamentals Certificate by ISACA

ABOUT THIS COURSE

Learn, train, and grow with IT Rusk Fundamentals

ISACA’s IT Risk Fundamentals Certificate covers the principles of IT risk management, the responsibilities and accountability for IT risk, and how to build risk awareness and how to communicate risk. You’ll learn six critical functions as you study for the certificate, including risk identification, governance, assessment and analysis, response, and reporting and communication.

Once you purchase the course, you will have access for one year and can earn 12 CPE upon completion.

Certificate Curriculum

The certificate covers all six of the IT Audit Fundamentals domains, using proven instructional design techniques, such as video, interactive eLearning modules, downloadable resources, and performance-based labs.

  1. Risk Introduction and Overview (5%): This domain covers foundations risk terminology the nature of business risk, IT-related risk, and the concept of controls.
  2. Risk Governance and Management (15%): This section delves into risk governance frameworks, management practices, the positioning of risk within an organization, the role of various stakeholders, and effective risk communication strategies.
  3. Risk Identification (20%): Focuses on identifying assets, understanding threats and vulnerabilities, exploring IT-related risk areas, and developing risk scenarios.
  4. Risk Assessment and Analysis (25%): This domain addresses the process and methods used to assess and analyze risks, including evaluating risk scenarios, ranking and prioritizing risks, documenting risks, and assessing controls.
  5. Risk Response (15%): Covers strategies and processes for responding to risk, including control design and implementation, incident management, business continuity planning, and improving risk processes.
  6. Risk Monitoring, Reporting, and Communication (20%): Emphasizes the importance of ongoing risk monitoring, using key risk and performance indicators, testing controls, and effectively reporting and communication risk-related information.

There are no prerequisites. You can register for the IT Risk Fundamentals exam at any time. The online, remotely proctored 2-hour exam blends both knowledge (multiple choice) and and performance-based questions set in a virtual lab environment. To pass the exam, you must earn a score of 65% or higher.

Successful students will receive an internationally recognized badge from ISACA.
